Your Brain is a Wee World Wonder

Your brain is the Wee World Wonder that makes everything else possible. Only 1% to 3% of your entire body mass, your brain still manages to use 20% of all your oxygen. It needs plenty of oxygen and about a fifth of your body's  blood to power the 100 billion neurons it's made up of. These neurons have the ability to transmit what are called electrochemical signals to the rest of you; this is the very juice that controls everything from breathing to feeling and beyond. Before 1962 it was believed that a human being was born with all the neurons they would ever have, but it has since been discovered that amazingly we can develop and birth new cells daily and throughout our lives by stretching, challenging and training this incredible organ.
