On last week's episode of Survivor, a surprising display of emotion was the source of a Wee World Wonder. All watched open-mouthed; after being voted out by his tribe-mates and sent to Redemption Island, third-time game guru Russell Hantz was eliminated permanently when he lost the one-on-one duel that would have allowed his re-entry into the competition.
At the announcement of his loss, Russell did something remarkably out of character. Pulling his signature fedora low over his face which was quickly crumbling, one of the biggest villains in Reality Show history doubled over and cried his eyes out.
Such a display of raw emotion is why we love reality so much, it proves that at the heart of even the fiercest bully is just that, a heart.
