The Friedrich's Ataxia Research Alliance or FARA, is a non-profit organization dedicated to the research of the degenerative disease Friedrich's Ataxia. FA is an aggressive neurological disease that becomes debilitating; taking away a person's Independence and significantly shortening lives. As of now there is no cure for FA, only research and the hope of learning how to stop, slow and even reverse its effects. FARA was founded in 1998 by FA patients and parents; the people who truly understand the desperate importance of continuing to find a cure, the people who won't stop looking until one is found.
